Long story short: I broke my chain in the first lap and DNF'd. Had a call-up and awesome start, but popped the KMC masterlink when powering off of a dirt section onto a paved path.
I'll post up more about the trip later, but yeah, a bit of a bust. I did get my picture taken with Barry Wicks, so all is good, though.

sorry dude. chains suck.
Sorry about your luck. I had a similar incident a few years ago. It was the last lap of a crit and I stood up to power out of turn and my chain dropped off the big ring and derailled completely.
